SD card reader does not work
I have Dell Latitude E6410. It has built in smart card reader (personal ID card) and a SD memory card reader. the first one works just fine, the other is not. It is not problem of the card - the same card is read through a USB connection device but not through the card reader itself. I have installed both drivers suggested on the site, tried separately and together. Nothing. Any ideas what else can I do? And one more thing. In Device Manager the smart card reader is present but the SD memory card reader is not. Or I cant find it. What is the device name for this card reader? And if it is really so, that the device manager has not detected it, what to do then?

Hi zigna,
Sorry to hear about the card trouble. From what your describing it’s possible the card may have been disabled in the system BIOS preventing it from being seen in the OS. I would recommend updated the system BIOS initially and checking to make sure the memory card reader is enabled correctly in the BIOS here:
If the card is enabled and the BIOS up to date, we have a more extensive troubleshooting guide and diagnostics tests here.
