SSD storage size
I have a 512 SSD in my new XPS 15. I have noticed that apparently I am using up 71 G of space already on it, I barely have added anything to this system yet. My 2 year old desktop has 73G used, but it is loaded with programs, files and pictures. Is the SSD or the fact I have a laptop inherently using up more of the disk right from the start?

Seems to me the math adds up, 512 - file-structure - operating system.
Never really get the entire space out of a drive.

But why is it using 71 with very little on it and my desktop is using 73 with a lot on it? There seems to be some difference in operating efficiency between the laptop with the SSD drive and my desktop with a mechanical drive.

^^ Beat me to it, I suspect it's partitioned.

Bear in mind that there's a restore partition on the drive - along with part of the boot firmware (EFI).
