ST Micro Screen Detection Sensor
I have a Studio 1747 which is a fabulous machine, but since downloading Windows 8 6.2.9200 Build 9200 I have been having difficulty using my Canon wireless printer.
I finally received a message today, which I believe might be the problem. It said that my ST Micro Screen Detection Sensor was incompatible with this Windows Version and that I should contact my computer manufacturer to see if there was an updated driver for it.
Can you please help?
Thanks, Colin

Hi Colin,
Dell Studio 1747 has not been tested for Windows 8 operating system. You can however download the Windows 7 driver and install it in compatibility mode. ST Micro Screen Detection Sensor is related to the hard drive on the system. Please let me know te problems you are facing with the wireless printer.

Download the R244464.exe from the link above, double click on the file, and extract it on the desktop in a folder. Look for setup file in the extracted folder. Right click ‘.exe’ file and click ‘Properties’. Click “install in compatibility mode’. Click on Application and select ‘Troubleshoot Compatibility’. Next, click on ‘Troubleshoot Program’. Click on Program worked in earlier versions of Windows. Click on ‘Windows 7’.Click on ‘Start the Program’. Do not hit ‘Next’ until the installation completes. Once the installation completes, click on ‘Next’.

I have windows 7, have the ST Micro Screen detection sensor problem and cannot print anymore on my HP Officejet air printer. It was my understanding that this sensor had to do with dropping the laptop. Will it interfere with my printing? How do I fix the printing problem?
