Safely Remove Hardware icon missing from sys tray!?!
After running BootVis (to try and improve boot performance) the Safely Remove Hardware icon no longer appears in the system tray.
I've tried running Check Disk, System File Checker, spyware apps, etc etc.
The only solution is to create an icon that runs "rundll32.exe shell32.dll,Control_RunDLL hotplug.dll" which brings up the Safely Remove Hardware dialog box (which does list my removable devices).
Any ideas?
I notice Microsoft no longer have BootVis on their website - maybe there is a conflict with the app and SP2?
Many thanks.

1. Plug n Plug service not running?
My computer, Manage, Services and Applications, Services.
Check Plug and Plug service's STATUS and Startup Type
2. this link deals with having all the autoplay issues, which might help if the above doesn't

Sometimes the remove hardware icon still disappears. I think the problem is not to do if whether the application is running or not, but just that the icon is not showing (cos some of my other icons have stopped showing, but still appear in Task Manager).
So I found this site http://www.tech-pro.net/howto_013.html that has sort of helped.
And this forum.. http://www.annoyances.org/exec/forum/winxp/t1034225301
Hope it helps anyone else with a similar problem.
