SanDisk CompactFlash PC Card Adapter doesn't show up

With my old Dell Laptop that was running XP, just plugged in the flash card with 128 MB camera flash card in it, and it automatically detected it and I could see it as an external drive.
 
But now, I plug it in and nothing is happening.
 
Do I need to enable the slot or something?

think i figured it out.
 
apparently, laptop has the "new" pcmcia, which is same size and card appears to fit in the slot, but it's not the same type of slot so it wont work. I think the slot is called express something.

Expresscard slot?

Is it some pcmia card slot -reader or something? Then yeah obviously it wouldn't work. I have a similar usb one that I bougt on ebay, I just plug it in and i'ts auto detected.
