Saving Images, Please Help!

Question

Hello everyone! I have a slight problem with my laptop and I'm hoping some of you can help me with it.

Whenever I try to save an image, the computer automatically turns it into a .bmp bitmap image. Can someone please tell me how to fix it or if something is wrong with my computer? Thanks in advance :]

Be assured that there is nothing wrong with the computer. This usually happens when trying to save a picture from the Web. Suggest that once your image is saved as a .bmp open it in paint then save it as a jpeg.

Yes I would normally do that but I tried to save a .gif thats animated as a .bmp and upload it somewhere. But some places don't allow you to save .bmps so then what? Is there anything at all I can do this fix this problem?
