Screen flickering in games, after updating nvidia drivers
Problem is very complex, but i'll try to write short.
Dell Inspirion 15 7559
Windows 10 64bit
i5
Geforce 960M
Short time after buing laptop everything seemed fine, but then problem arose:
0. With default drivers (shipped with system) problem doesn't occur, but game performance is awful. Witcher 3 runs with 2-5 fps. Other more demanding games also are unplayable. It looks like laptop is not using Geforce at all.
1. Right after installing Nvidia drivers all games run smoothly, including Witcher 3, but big problem arises: heavy screen flickering (only in games).
2. At first problem was easily avoided by moving screen (cover) a bit up or down. Now i have to almost completely close cover to stop flickering. But it's obviously unplayable and unusable. I clearly can see that game run smoothly when cover is almost closed, no fllickering at all.
3. Problem won't show up in some games that either use OpenGL or (probably) are less demanding for GPU (like Minecraft).
What have been done so far:
1. Different Intel GPU drivers
2. Different Nvidia GPU drivers
3. Different updates via Dell Update
4. BIOS Update
5. Factory reset (with disk formatting)
It's all the same - without nvidia drivers there is no flickering, but performance is awful. After (any) Nvidia drivers - performance is perfect, but there is heavy screen flickering.
Help?

Thank you for your message.
Have you tried connecting an external monitor to check if the issue occurs?
Manually set the game to start with NVidia card in NVidia control panel.
This could also be caused by the LVDS cable frayed or not routed correctly.

After connecting to external monitor - on external monitor everything is fine, but laptop screen is flickering.
I've tried with forcing to use Nvidia card before, didn't see any difference.
Sorry, what is "service tag"?

Oh and another thing.
When i force NVIDIA GPU in Nvidia Control Panel on all games - all games have flickering (even Minecraft on Windows 10).
When i force INTEL GPU in NCP on all games - no games have flickering. Witcher 3 have problems with loading (black screen).
Theory: maybe laptop is constantly switching between two GPUs?
Question: why is it working when cover is almost closed? What is happening in laptop when it "knows" that cover is partially closed and how it influences GPU?
If it's a matter of cables, why there are no issues when laptop is using Intel GPU?

Please try the below steps again.
Download NVidia driver from this link http://dell.to/2tK0FMz & save to your desktop
Download chipset driver from this link http://dell.to/2uHVc6j & save to your desktop
Open device manager – expand display adapter – right click on NVidia driver & click on uninstall (check the box that says delete driver). Do not restart the computer.
Install the NVidia driver saved on your desktop screen followed by the chipset driver & restart the computer.
Now update the bios http://dell.to/2tnAida (update this even if you have the latest version), restart the computer.
Check if the issue persists. If there screen flickers when you move the LCD, it is a hardware issue & the LVDS cable will require a replacement.
If the system is under warranty, we will set up a dispatch to replace parts as per warranty.
Click on this link http://bit.ly/2ePdx9V to know how to find the service tag. Please share these details only on private message.

Sorry for the delay. I cannot get past first step. Nvidia driver says it didnt found compatible graphic card (it's a loose translation from polish).

Ok, i couldnt install graphic driver then, so i kinda did it other way. First i've installed Intel Drivers, then Bios and after restart i've checked if games run ok.
The same story. Witcher 3 runs without flickering and with 1-3 fps (probably on Intel GPU). Forcing Nvidia GPU does nothing. After installing the driver i got flickering and smooth gameplay.

I'm afraid in this case it ended up with a Dell Technical who came and replaced some parts inside laptop. So it was a hardware malfunction.
