Service Tag and Hardware and BIOS Updates for XPS 10

I recently bight an XPS 10 and I cannot find on the Dell support site how to find the Service tag.  I am also trying to find out where to find hardware BIOS updates for it.  In addition how do you do a hard reset of the device?

Hi asaletra,

Below is the picture where you will locate the service tag or express service code.

There will be no bios update, you will find only firmware update for XPS10 when it is available.

Please do get back to us for further assistance or information

I have the same problem.  My service tag is not showing online, the online tool to detect it does not work on Win RT, and the label indicated in this picture does NOT have the service tag!

Hello,

you can find the Service Tag on the side of the XPS shipping Box (black).

I would also like to ask for advice/bring up some issues I have with the xps 10.

- the tablet in "Energy Save"-mode keeps turning itsself on without outside infuence (I already disabled any lid related power management option - I use the keyboard dock).

- the keyboard docks touchpad does not recognize gestures from the side (e.g charms bar) and somtimes also does not recognize gestures at all.

- when the tablet is in energy save for some time, it does not wake up again and has to be hard reset (btw. this is done by pressing the on/off button for some seconds). This issue may have soth. to do with the first, because the Tab is constantly waking up from sleep and returning to it.

Please help with these issues to make this a not good but great tablet.

Thanks & best regards,

Peter

On my XPS10, it is on that little label, it is just listed as "ST:xxxxxxx"  The express service code is also there, listed as "EX:xxxxxxxxxxx"
