SigmaTel soundcard errors

I own an Inspiron 5100, and my audio isnt working.  In the device manager it shows an error 10 (Cannot start)

I have installed the most recent device driver for the hardware, which runs smoothly until after the indtaller exits, when a popup comes up that says

Click on OK to terminate the program

Any suggestions?  I've uninstalled and re-insalled the driver multiple times
