Soundblaster X-Fi/Realtek High Definition Audio Problem
Hi everyone,
XPS 17 running Windows 7.
I decided to finally install the Soundblaster X-Fi, that came with my Dell, yesterday, and now, every time I reboot/restart my laptop, the volume icon, in the taskbar, has a red and white X on it (no volume). When I hover over it, it says "No Audio Output Device is installed".
When I click on it, my laptop detects the issue, and I am prompted with "There is a problem with the driver for Realtek High Definition Audio, reinstalling the driver might fix the problem."
I select "Apply this fix" and everything is back in working order, after that.
However, when if ever I reboot, I'm back at square one, and have to do it all over again.
I'm contemplating uninstalling the Soundblaster, but wanted to give you guys the chance to weight in, first.
Thank you in advance!

Not much of an idea here, but you could try downloading a fresh copy of the driver. When you "apply this fix" it is probably just re-installing using the same files each time which would not help if corrupted. You might need to remove the Creative software first, I'm not sure, or maybe try it both ways.

Since I have Reinstalled my windows I am also facing the same issue. I tried following
1- Un-installed Creative package and then installed IDT one that also did not solve it.It does solve only for this till restart.
2- Downloaded Latest driver from Dell and applied.
None of these work.
Please advice.
