Start up taking too long.
***Update***
The issue was the DVD/CD Drive went bad. After removing it from the chassis Windows boot time returned to normal.
**************
Hi All,
I have a Dell Inspiron 17R running Windows 7 Home Premium. The past month when I start up my machine it takes about 15 minutes to make it past the windows loading screen. When I flash the bios it returns to taking the normal 15 seconds, but then 3 days later it is back to the 15 minutes.
The event log shows that the CDRom driver fails to load, I have reinstalled the CDRom drivers several times from the Dell website with no luck. I have removed all accessories that are plugged in and it has no effect. Another thing to note is that I use this laptop as a stationary device so I only use the AC power with the battery removed. Leaving the battery in also yields no results.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. At this point it is a minor inconvenience but still annoying.

The issue was the DVD/CD Drive was bad. After removing it from the chassis, Windows boot time returned to normal. Now I just need to find a replacement drive and everything should be all set.

The most likely cause is a hard drive that is beginning to fail. Press F12 a few times at powerup and run an extended hard drive diagnostic.
