Startup Black Screen on Latitude E6510 - 8 beeps

I have a Dell Latitude E6510 Laptop and after 4 month of not turning it ON, I tried to turn it Power it ON. :(

My display remains black and I can hear 8 beeps.

I trued to connect an externel LCD over VGA port, use Fn+F8 to use external display, but black screen also on the external LCD.

I hold D key and powered it ON and the screen turns: Red Green White.

Is there anythibg I could do to resuscitate my laptop display?

Thanks!

Hi,

Thank you for writing to us!

This looks like a hardware issue.

Pre boot system assessment is run by hitting the 'F12' key immediately after turning on your system and choosing 'Diagnostics' from the options displayed.

Also, check the lock key status  - this is one of the older models,  NUM, CAPS & SCROLL lock keys should respond in a specific pattern when the system is turned on..

IF Flash - Flash -Flash  / FLASH - FLASH -ON  / Flash - On - On >>>

Kindly private message the service tag to the system.

Thanks

Robin

When I poer on and hit F12 key, my screen doesn't display anything. :(

I don't get any lock key code when powering on. Only the NUM led turn on and stays on after the 8 beeps ends.

I'll PM to you my Service Tag.

I can hear 8 beeps in 3 groups: 3-3-2 (long short short - short short long - short short)

My wife is sure that she hears 9 beeps in 3 groups: 4-3-2.
