Studio 1535 multiple problems

I have had this for about 5 weeks now. Yesterday when I turned it on I noticed a difference...the touch sensitive buttons (volume etc) didnt light up as usual when powering up.

Once it had started there were several more problems. The touch pad doesnt work (although it will in safe mode), the keys on the keyboard dont work properly. I have to keep pressing the key until it works and none of the touch sensitive keys (sound etc) dont work at all.

Currently I'm using a USB mouse and this email took me 10 minutes to write because of the keys.

Also the fan stays on permenantly.

Please help!!!

I have had my Studio 1535 for about 6 weeks now and I have just started getting EXACTLY the same issues. On the plus side, at least it isn't a unique problem. Would also appreciate any input on this!

I have just fixed, or more accurately had fixed for me the following problems.

Noisy Fan aka always on full power

Back lit soft keys don't work
intermittant failure on the keyboard
touchpad not working

A very helpful person from Dell Support reinstalled the  General Utilities, Touchpad Driver, Intel Chipset Drivers abd BIOS. I have done similar things for W98 machines but Vista is beyond me and I wouldn't be able to say which drivers are needed but my system is now working.

The original poster's problems sound very similar to mine.

I had the same problem suddenly arise last night--fan running full blast, track pad did not work, keyboard was unresponsive, media buttons did not work.  Upgrading BIOS from A02 to A05 appears to have fixed the problems.
