Studio 1737 Power issues
Good external power adapter, battery almost fully charged.
Laptop will not show any sign of life on battery power: no blinks or any other activity.
On connecting the power plug, NOTHING happens; i.e., the led on the laptop indicating charging status does not light at all. Press the power button, and nothing happens - no blinks, no lights. Nothing.
I performed the reset (i.e., remove battery and hold power switch to drain residual power), replaced battery and power plug, and still no activity.
I removed the battery and plugged in the power cord: still no activity: no charging LED or any lights or activity.
The power jack was in poor condition, i.e., power plug had a very sloppy fit, so I replaced the power board.
I repeated all of the above procedures, and still have no activity. At this point, I believe the MB will need to be replaced. Before I take the next step, I wanted to make as sure as possible that I have not overlooked anything. Does anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks in advance!

If you haven't tried a new AC adapter yet, that's worth doing before you undertake the expensive mainboard replacement.

Thanks for the suggestion, I will double check the output of the AC adapter, but I'm pretty sure it is good. The battery is almost completely charged. I would expect at a minimum some blinking LEDs or other activity of some kind when attempting to power up with the battery. Heck, id be happy with a gentle "click" or "whirr", but there is not any activity at all.
