Studio 1737 motherboard?

Hi, I bought Studio 1737 in the UK a year and a half ago, and already it has problems. The battery won't charge and the DC jack has been replaced on the advice of a tech-costing a couple hundred dollars- and this did not fix it. So am advised that it needs a new motherboard. Thats too expensive to have done professionally and since the computer is useless now anyways thought I would try it myself. Anybody know what kind of motherboard the 1737 uses and where I can find one for the least cost? Am disgusted with Dell for making such a shoddy, poorly put otgether  product and will never buy one again- thought that they were a reputable brand until now.

You need the same board you now have - nothing else will fit.

Check eBay. The system board runs $150-200.

The socket gets broken solder connections because of rough handling.

Soldering of the DC socket is a crap shoot. I tried it once for my daughter without success, and I am no slouch in soldering.

Sometimes the socket itself is bad. You can also find the soclets and instructions on eBAy, as well as sites that will attempt the repair; no charge if no success.
