Studio 1749, on screen volume display
hi all,
can anyone tell me how to get the screen display for the volume and brightness keys back up working, I had to reinstall windows 7, and although the keys are working the on screen display is not, and i can't find where to turn it back on!!
thanks in advance for anyone that can help

Barry,
It is a function of Dell Quickset, so try installing that. On the Studio 1749 downloads page it is in the Applications category. If not that then I don't know.

Have you checked that on-screen volume is enabled? To do that you right click on the taskbar icon to see the options (on some versions you left click).

Hi,
have right and left clicked, can find no 'on-screen volume' to enable, I know it was there before i reinstalled window 7, even when i use the brightness buttons, it's changes the brightness but no on screen display, even the battery level button (f3) does not show on the screen.

I know this question is old, but I had the same problem and to resolve it, all you have to do is install the correct version of Dell's QUICKSET application for your operating system. This will put the on-screen displays back to their working order.
