Studio XPS 1340 start up problem(Windows Error Recovery)

Hi all,

Recently, my laptop is acting weirdly...it's not starting at all. Once you turn on the button, it shows only the Dell Logo with only F2 and F12 options on the side.If I leave it without touching any of them, it asks me to  choose from the existing options.Safe mode, safe mode with networking, safe mode with command prompt, last known configuration, start windows normally.

If i choose safe mode, windows files start loading but nothing happens. if choose to start last configuration or normally the Microsoft loading bar starts loading, and it stays that way forever.

I also tried inserting a Windows 7 CD to reboot the system, but the F12 option would not let me go through, it just freezes.

Is there anybody who can give me a hand,or both please?

Thank you

Hi il_calciatore,

Follow below steps which can resolve the issue.

Restart the computer by holding the FN and Power button on the computer.

Let the diagnostics complete.

Startup Repair from the Windows Recovery Environment (WinRE)

To repair your computer using Startup Repair follow these steps:

  1. Boot into Windows 7 Operating system installation DVD
  2. Choose your language settings and click Next
  3. Click Repair your computer
  4. Choose your operating system and click Next. This should bring up System Recovery Options.
  5. Click on Startup Repair

Startup Repair should now start diagnosing your system to identify the root cause of the failure. Once it has identified the root cause, it would automatically start repairing your computer.

Awaiting your response!
