After you updated the BIOS then I also suggest you update Chipset and Video drivers. Please install drivers in correct order or install each driver individually.
Error code [tag:M1004] usually mean there's a problem with the mainboard. I like to suggest you update the system setup(BIOS). Please click on link below:

You can use the "Guide Me " option on your Dell Product Support page which will automatically detect drivers for the system.
