Hi Mahendru1992,

Dell XPS L501X has not been tested on Windows 8.1.To know more details you can click on the link http://dell.to/1wAxVPb and find the system models that support for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1.

You could also refer to the link http://dell.to/1nGRpMA to download the Synaptics Driver for a Windows 8 System.

Hope this helps.

Hi Mahendru1992,

Synaptics have not released any specific driver for Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 as they come with generic native drivers.

However I would suggest you to install the Synaptics win 7 driver in compatibility mode and check.

Hope this helps.

I installed the windows 7 synaptic drivers using the compatibility mode. It did get installed but I still can't see the device settings or it's app in the taskbar. I still can't scroll or double tap. Tl;DR - No change after installing the driver.
