I have come across this issue before. The easiest way to go about it is to set Internet Explorer as the default browser and then try to print using the home group printer this should resolve the issue. If you are using any other browser as the default browser on your system this problem may occur.
To set Internet Explorer as the default browser:
Open the Internet explorer.
Click on Tools
Click on Program tab on the top.
Click on the tab "Make Defaults".
Click on Apply and OK.
Hope this helps. Please reply for any further queries.
Truthfully, I'd rather have no internet than to have to go back to Internet Explorer. Are there no other solutions? I am not trying to print something from the internet, I am trying to print a word document,
I first got this error after I installed Windows 8 and set my default browser to the App version of IE10, not the Application version of IE10. (Metro vs. Desktop Interface). When I switched the default browser back to the desktop version of IE 10, I was able to print the password. Strange bug that hasn't been fixed in all of this time!
The Message says: "An error occurred while Windows was trying to print your homegroup password. (Error Code:2147500037) Microsoft HomeGroup set-up instructions, if the password won't print and the infamous Error
code: 2147500037 shows up, just change the default browser back to Internet Explorer.!!!
That's IE Browser/Tools/Internet Options/Programs/Default Web Browser Internet Explorer.
And lo, it's now 2016, Windows has evolved (??) to Windows 10 and the problem persists.
It becomes clear that the end user, the consumer that pays for all these nifty toys and creates so many salaried positions, not to forget mega yacht purchasing corporate bobble heads, is the lowliest member of the food chain.
God forbid that anyone would actually take the time to flip the switch that would fix annoyances such as these and perhaps create a bubble of contentment in what is rapidly becoming a hostile environment.. So come on guys, make me forget hackers, bad code, phishing and all that for just a few seconds and fix what you broke.
