Targus Auto/Air - D600

Question

My Targus Auto/Air Adapter worked fine with my Dell Latitude C. When I replaced the C with a D600 and ordered the Power Tip #103 it also worked OK in the beginning. Provided power in my car but NOT charging. OK for now. After a few uses I now find that it does not even provide power and relys only on battery. I've checked all connections, and once in a rare while, power AC kicks in then drops out again.

Anybody else have a similar experience?

The D600 can tell if that is a Dell adapter attached. If not, it won't allow the adapter to charge battery. However, it should still be able to power you system. Can you Targus adapter support 65W?

Go to the TARGUS web site:  http://www.targus.com/us/ Then look for the 'Power Tip Configurator' under the 'Site Tools' window and go from there.

I had the same experience with my Targus PWR300U, however, the now fully discharged battery will not recharge even with a Dell charger (either directly or with the dock). The Targus will supply AC power continuously, but will not charge the battery at all. Help? Anyone?

I have similar challenges.  I can't overide the speedstep settings which makes my laptop run at 220mhz...  if I disable speedstep in the bios I run at 560mhz or so.  Still a far cry from the 1600mhz processor I paid for :)  I contacted support tonight (case 92564586) and was told that basically I am out of luck.  My response... I'm changing to an IBM.

I agree, IBM is a better bet. I work in 3 locations, had 3 Targus power adapters. I now managed to get IT to take my Dell away and give me one of these new IBM's. Much better. The tip was included with the adapters.
