I'm not really sure, but perhaps its because you (have a high res screen &) have the windows font pitch turned up to 120dpi (or something) from 96dpi and this causes weird font and graphic scaling. There was a post somewhere how to fix fuzzy fonts in IE (you needed to changea registry setting) and wonder if this is also a registry setting (its not the same one since I've already fixed the fuzzy graphics in IE and it didn't solve the taskbar icons).

Anyone else with ideas/soln's ?

Yeah and it's pretty weird...  the same thing is happening with all of the graphics on the internet!

Like when I go to yahoo.com, every single graphic on that page is pixelated/unclear.

And if I set the setting to 96dpi everything is so small that I can't see it!

Thanks for your reply!  Please keep the suggestions coming!

P.S. I do have a high res screen.

I received my computer last Monday, and I am having the same problem, did you already solve it? If any one can help us, please post the answer to this quiz.

Have you tried Desktop>properties>appearance>Advance>Item>Caption adjustments for sizing the Taskbar  or moved the fonts size around from normal to large to extra large under appearance>Font size in Xpro? This improved the appearance of my Taskbar & icons but I am using a very Hirez and needed the large sizing.

Okay, I tried what you suggested, and it helped a bit, but all of the icons by the clock are now even more pixelated/fuzzy.
But I do have XP Home Edition so I don't know if that has anything at all to do with it.

I also have XP home edition and I also try the suggestion of increasing the size of the fonts and I still have the same problem. Did you already ask for help to the tech support?

Icons will get pixelated when they are stretched past their maximum size. I was thinking your icons cannot  handle the higher caption sizes. They will get more pixealted the higher you set the caption size. My captions size was defaulted to 30 which made the icons very small for me to see at 1920x1200.  I have raised the size to 50 but going higher causes pixalation to start. They are easier to read at this level for me. I was just testing to see if lowering your caption sizing would improve you icon appearance. If this is a new computer under warranty then Dell TS may need to help you out, now.

I am have never been successful with contacing anyone on Dell's live online support. I get referred to an online help screen. I've had pretty good luck with call the phone tech support The wait has never been longer than 10 mins. Most TS people seem knowledgeable and importantly helpful but not always.

So far I feel lucky with the I6000 but it ain't easy. Good luck!

I have bad news :smileymad:............, I found another thread with this same issue.......... read all the messages before doing something. http://forums.us.dell.com/supportforums/board/message?board.id=insp_video&message.id=75039 As I understood, seriously consider returning your computer to DELL.
