Hi subin_mydell,

Welcome to the Community.

Have you tried Uninstalling and then Reinstalling the Touchpad drivers? Click on start, right click on computer, click on properties, click on device manager, click on the symbol next to pointing devices, right click on the Dell Touchpad Driver and click on uninstall. Click ok to confirm. Once removed restart your computer, and click on the below link to download and reinstall the touchpad driver.

This seems to happen to me periodically for no specific reason on my XPS 12.  I am sure you've tried this, but honestly, what usually works for me (esp. w/the 2-fingered scrolling, which I use often) is turning that function off & then turning it back on again.

Hi subin_mydell,

Please try the steps provided below.

Open control panel / mouse / dell touchpad / "click to change Dell touchpad settings" slide "touch pressure" all the way to the left.

This simple solution seems to have fixed for most of the customers who is using XPS 12.

Hope it works for you too. If it does not then try the alternative steps provided below.

1. I installed TwoFingerScroll ver. 1.09 ( http://bit.ly/1pPVBuu ) while keeping the synaptic driver installed, but turning off the scroll features.

2. While using TwoFingerScroll, the jumping issue went away, but scrolling wasn't the smoothest. I also couldn't scroll horizontally.

3. Under the scrolling tab I turned the settings to Scroll Mode - Smart, Scroll Settings - No acceleration, and finally turned scrolling off (counterintuitive, I know)

4. Turn on synaptic scrolling, lower the touchpad pressuring sensitivity and lower the scrolling speed.

Hope this helps!

Hi subin_mydell,

Try the steps provided below.

1. Go to the Start menu and click on Run.

2. Type 'regedit' without quotes and click OK to open the Registry.

3. Using the + signs in the left pane, navigate through the registry to get to this location:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\services\Elantech\OtherSetting\DisableWhenType_DelayTime_Move

Change the value to 0 so there's no delay.

Hope this helps!
