Transferring from JVC Video Camera to PC
I have a JVC digital video camera model GR-D775U and would like to transfer the videos to my PC, which currently does not have a firewire connector. My Dell Inspiron 530 has the little slot marked 1394, but I guess that was an option we didn't realize we should have added (as it is empty). I just bought a cable that has a DV output for the JVC camera and a USB or firewire option, but the video won't download using the USB on the PC. I suspect I need to have a firewire connector on my PC. Does anyone have any suggestions to make sure future investments will make the camera and PC compatible for downloading?

You need something like this (and since the camera probably has a 4 pin connector, you'll also need a 4- to 6-pin firewire cable).
