Trusted Drive Manager produces "Invalid ATAPI version" Warning

Am using a Precision M4400 (with BIOS A09) notebook.  Recently installed Dell ControlPOint Security Manager A07 (and also the corresponding driver update 1.01.29).  I noticed after installing I was getting warnings almost EVERY MINUTE on event manager.  THe warnings had a source from Trusted Drive Manager and said I had an invalid ATAPI version.  Uninstalling the secuirty manager app (but not driver) removed the warnings.  I have a Hitachi 160GB Drive.

Google "Trusted Drive Manager Warning filling up Event Viewer"

It worked for several people.  The defaults of the M4400 BIOS and Embassy security software conflict.

The alternative, if you have a factory image, is to set the SATA mode in the BIOS to AHCI instead of IRRT.  Don't try this on a system installed from scratch.

Thanks! I installed it without the Trusted Drive Manager and i don't see the error anymore. Decided not to fiddle with the BIOS setting.
