Trying to Restore to Original Factory Install
I created the two CDs using the provided software, yet when I run the restore, the screen gets stuck when asking to insert disk 2. I can hear that the computer accepts the CD and starts reading it, but it does not continue with the restore.
Seeing as I did everything correctly (created the disks, when Dell has decided to no longer provide them), it does not feel right to pay Dell for support. Can anyone offer any advice?

My Dell computer does not come with the factory restore disk partition, so I had to create the restore disks from the tool that connected to the website. It used 2 DVDs to create the factory restore disks. The second disk either is not working or there is a problem with the restore, the screen that says "insert disk 2" stays on the screen even after I put the second disk in.
Can I get a set of install disks sent to me? Or can I use another computer to create another set of disks?

Hi smburgy,
Disk 2 might have gone bad. Kindly private message me the service tag. I will review your account and take the case forward.
I have added you as a friend. Please accept my friend request by clicking on my name highlighted in blue and then click on “Friends” tab at the top and then click on “Request to Review” and finally click on “Accept” button.
I am sending you a private message as well. Click on “Inbox” to respond to the message and provide system’s Service Tag and contact details so I may access your system records and check for further course of action. You could also click on Start Conversation to send a private message.
Awaiting your response!

Hi cc2514,
Please help me understand if you are trying to so System restore or a factory reset on the computer?
Run diagnostics on the computer. (Restart the computer by holding the Fn + Power button simultaneously). Let the diagnostics complete.
