Turn off Intel Display Power Saving Technology?

Hi, On a Latitude D505 I'm setting up when you pull out the power lead so it changes to running on the battery, the screen darkens. I've found out that this is due to the Intel Display Power Saving Technology which is part of the Intel Extreme Graphics. But I don't seem to be able to disable it - which is very frustrating! Does anyone know how to do this, so that the laptop stays at the same brightness even when the power cable is removed? Thanks very much.

The explanation is that you have a brightness setting for AC and another one for DC but you can set each one as you like from BIOS !
