Hello. Here are some general tips as without knowing the full model name of your laptop & its operating system cannot be specific.
1. Most Dell laptops have keyboard controls for volume. Refer to your laptop's documentation for the location of media keys.
2. On models with Windows, you can control volume with the mouse. Click on the audio icon on your taskbar to see the volume control on the screen. In the picture below, audio icon looks like a speaker cone. When clicked, the volume control appears. Position the cursor on the slider and slide it while holding down the left mouse button.
3. If you need more volume, you can use the e.q. controls of your media player. For example, if you are using Windows Media Player, if you push up all of the eq sliders you will get a big increase in overall volume.
4. If you need more volume you can connect external speakers that have built-in amplifiers.
