Did you try changing boot priority to USB storage under BOOT in BIOS? Does any other USB device work on the same USB port you're using to connect the bootable USB key ?Are you able to boot from the same USB key on a different system?
May I know which Windows version is saved on the USB key?
Yep, changed boot priority in BIOS to boot from USB first - and all USB ports are functional. And yes, the USB key I am using works on my other USB bootable systems.
What I was trying to do is get Linux to boot from my "8GB STORE N GO USB Key (which at the time didn't work) but I came across this "Linux Live USB Creator" that made the USB key recognized on boot.
However, When the USB key is empty the system locks on boot, from my experience that's not normal? if instructed in post it should just boot, shouldn't it?
At times when you have a USB device connected to the system it results in system locking up on boot up or start up.It is not specific to this system model but can happen on any system. Its recommended to plug in a USB device after the system completely boots to Windows.

Hi MickeyNZ
Welcome to the Community,
Try the steps below and see if you’re able to boot system using the USB flash drive.
• Boot into BIOS (F2)
• Go into Advance Tab
• Under Miscellaneous devices you should see USB Debug
• Go ahead and set it to enabled
• Press F10to save and Exit.
Note:This steps may not be applicable if your system BIOS does not have the USB Debug option.
Thank You

Nope, no go, I don't have USB Debug. My current Bios version is "A14".
Any other recommendations?
