Unable to access factory restore using CTRL + F11
Hi guys
I used PTEDIT32.EXE to install Windows 7 Professional instead of Windows 7 from my Dell Inspiron 1464 (testing). Now I'm not able to boot the laptop from Recovery Partition for a new reinstallation of original Windows 7 to factory settings (Home Premium). I did some similar tasks on Acer so I'm sure there must be a way to fix this problem with PTEDIT32.EXE
Hoping someone could help me

This will work ONLY if you did not remove the recovery partition:
(you will need to get to a command line)
Boot your system from the Windows DVD. Then,
In the Administrator window, type the following lines, pressing after each line.
path d:\windows;d:\windows\system32
d:
CD Tools
PCRestore
By the way, the sequence for tripping the restore for Windows 7/Vista is not CTRL-F11 - -it is F8 before Windows loads (but that won't work, since you've altered the boot sector).

I didn't touch the Recovery Partiotion but the partition table (attachment)
Do you mean Windows Recovery discs from this laptop or any Windows 7 installation disc? I assume you mean D: = Win DVD disc, right?
btw I think if I could restore the default values on PTEDIT I can fix the problem.
