Upgrade memory RAM DELL M1330

Hello everyone.

One of 2 RAM of my XPS M1330 (2 Go each one)  was defected. I want to buy another one to replace the defected one.

A friend told me that I had to buy a 2Go RAM ( I wanted to buy a 1Go cause I have windows 7 32 bit, my computer cannot use all of 4Go of RAM)

I would like to ask if a Kingston RAM is compatible with my PC. Do I need to choose the same marque as the other RAM of my PC?

Thanks in advance!

Krassa

KTD RAM will work just fine, but you should maintain equal-size soDIMMs to preserve dual channel operation.

You need two, equal capacity soDIMMs - 2X2 or 2X1.  If you run a single module or a mismatched set, you lose half your memory bandwidth, as the system will revert to single-channel operation.
