Upgrading the cpu xps17

http://2213.storehosts.net/intel-core-i7454790k-cache-processor-p-1797.html.  Would this processor be compatable with the dell xps17 laptop? Can someone please advise?

That is a desktop CPU - it won't work in a notebook.  Further, it's fourth generation Core CPU (Haswell) -- even the mobile types won't work in the XPS 17 systems.

If you have the XPS L701x, it uses only the first generation Core mobiles - and unless you have the 3D model with a true, dedicated nVidia GPU, you cannot use a quad core (the first generation quads have no video circuit so they will not work with hybrid video that came on the other models).  All of these have three digits in numeric part number (i.e., i5-560m).

The XPS L702x uses the second-generation Cores (Sandy Bridge) CPUs only.   The current Haswell and earlier third-gen (Ivy Bridge) CPUs won't work.
