Using Shift Key Makes Noise
My Inspiron 8600 running XP SP2 recently started making the same sequence of sounds when the shift key is depressed. This only happens five times after each reboot and then everything seems to work properly. No viruses were found when I ran a virus scan.
Does anyone know what might be causing this and how to correct it?
Thanks for your help.
John

i think that is called stickykeys. does the sound lead you to a dialogue box? if not, it probably isn't stickykeys. how about you try hitting the shift key 5 times in succession right now. do get a dialogue box referring to stickykeys? is this the same one that you get after a reboot (if you even get a dialogue box)??? good luck and post back if you have any more questions!!! :-)
