V130 'modem error' code

Hi,

I have a Vostro V130 laptop that will not boot. The LED codes indicate a "modem error": num-lock is on, the caps-lock and the scroll-lock blinking. The proposed remedy is to reset or remove the modem, but I cannot find where the modem is? Any experience with type of issue?

This is a memory error.  Try reseating (remove and reinstall) the memory modules - if that doesn't solve the problem try the modules one at a time in each socket until you determine which module or socket is bad.
