VARIOUS Problems - Unable to Update BIOS on Inspiron 15 - 3542 - Dummy Model Error
My newly bought laptop has various issues including:
1. Not waking from sleep mode
2. Unable to adjust brightness
3. BSOD on Windows 8.1 x64
All latest drivers and Windows updates have been installed. The BIOS file <<downloads.dell.com/.../3442A06.EXE>;> was downloaded from:
<<http://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/19/product-support/product/inspiron-15-3542-laptop/drivers>>
Please refer to the attached screenshots of the error.

It seems there is now an A08, does this give the same issues?

Have there been any resolution of this problem? I downloaded all the availiable BIOSes for my Inspiron 3543 and I allways get the same error (DummyModel) when trying to update it. I've been trying to locate the source of some issues and the BIOS is the last thing to be updated! My PC is still on A01.

Also want to ask last thing:
why dell support site detect my inspiron 3543 as "inspiron 3542" after i use my service code or express code?
But application on windows 8.1, before i flash bios,
was also wrong when detect my notebook model(*now dellsuport application detect the corect one)
