Virtualization Setting in BIOS

I have an XPS M1730 running Windows 7 Ultimate. I was going through the BIOS settings and had a question about the "ENABLE VIRTUALIZATION" setting in the BIOS. If I'm never going to run VMWARE or any kind of hypervisor, is there any benefit at all in having this setting turned on? I know that enabling hardware based virtualization is definitely a must if I am running virtualized platforms on my laptop/desktop. But if I dont intend to do this, is there any performance improvement or performance degradation in enabling this setting? I really dont need to use virtualization and wanted to know if this setting made any difference at all.

Answers much appreciated. Thanks!

Unless you're using software that requires virtualization, the setting makes no difference.
