Vostro 1310 keyboard driver issues with XP

I have formatted the disk on my vostro 1310 (came with vista) and installed XP pro sp3.

I have managed to install most of the XP drivers successfully, however I am having a problem with the keyboard.

All of the 'purple keys' i.e. the ones with a second charcter written on them in purple text, do not work unless I hold down the "Fn" key.

For example, u=4, i=5, /=+.

What driver needs to be installed to sort this issue?

Incidentally, is there a way to have Num Lk off by default at startup?

I've checked the BIOS but couldn't see an option, besides, I think the Num Lk is actually going on during Windows boot, rather than system boot - so I presume it's a Windows setting I need to change.

I've tried a registry hack that was mentioned as a result of my Google search, but the situation has remained the same.
