Vostro 1500 Battery Replacement

I keep getting a message on my Laptop saying that my Battery is reaching the end of its life and I should replace it, which I am going to do, I am going to order one but this is my question.

What is the difference between these two batteries, im guessing the more expensive one is better, but why, is it only because it has a longer life?

It is larger-3 more cells which means longer life, but also more weight. The 6 cell is the standard battery that is the default size that comes with most machines unless you request the larger one.
