Vostro 1710 BIOS - Virtualization support
Hi there,
Looking to upgrade the CPU from the original T5670 to a T9500.
Other posters report that this should work fine :

Does anyone know if it is possible to enable Intel VT virtualization-support within the BIOS ?

For those interested .
After installing a T9500 CPU, VT-x support became enabled.
Windows 8, coreinfo.exe and Linux all report VT-x capability is available.
And VirtualBox able to use VT-x for Virtual Machines. CPU doesn't support EPT / Nested-paging.
No changes to the BIOS (ver A12) were needed to get it to work.
FYI, can't see any new options / settings for virtualization within the BIOS setup-pages
following switch from T5670 (non VT-x capable) to T9500 (VT-x capable) CPU.
