Vostro 3550 Fingerprint Reader Problem
Trying to get to grips with this and finding great difficulty setting it up. When I try to enroll my fingerprint it tells me that the Reader is not connected. How do I connect the Fingerprint Reader?
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Assuming that a fingerprint reader was purchased with the system ( they don't always come as default) I would check to make sure that the reader shows up in device manager. It should show as a Validity Sensor under the Biometric Devices Section. To open device manager click on start, right click on computer and click on the device manager link on the top left.
If you don't see it in device manager I suggest installing the validity driver from the following link.

Here is a good article from Microsoft going over care of the finger print reader, it might be of some help.

If you continue to need further help please reply with the operating system installed on your notebook, and what security software that you are using with the fingerprint reader.
