Vostro 5468 TPM (Trusted Platform Module)

Hi All,

Has anyone else experienced issues with the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) on the Vostro 5468?

It was working fine when I first configured the laptop around a fortnight ago. In the last few days, the laptop kept prompting for the full Bitlocker Recovery Key instead of just the PIN. After further investigation, it appears that TPM is missing from the BIOS and the entry in the Device Manager is hidden with "Currently, this hardware device is not connected to the computer. (Code 45)" error.

I have just updated to BIOS 1.1.1 in an attempt to resolve the issue, but this has had no affect. I have also reset the BIOS back to factory settings.

I have found other posts with members experiencing similar issues but on Lattitude's back in 2016.

Thanks in advance for any replies, Stuart

I just got this exact problem on an XPS 13 9360.  Did you find any solution?

Nothing yet unfortunately.

I solved my problem (after a lot of trial and error.)  First, I uninstalled TPM from the Device Manager.  Next, I reloaded and ran the Intel Chipset Driver.  Reboot, and voila... TPM reappeared.
