Where is the built-in microphone?

I can't find it.  Where is it?

Thanks

Blindmelonball,

Please do not cross-post a message.  If there is more than one solution path, cross-posting messages may take you on two completely different paths.  This can be confusing to some users.

I have an iXPS. I have a small hole above my numlock key, is that a mic as well? Or am I just too hopeful?

I have a 9100 and I noticed the little hole above my numlock LED as well. I tested it out and it is a mic. So chances are anyone with a litlte hole above the numlock LED has a mic.

You can test it out by opening up Start --> All Programs --> Accessories --> Entertainment --> Sound Recorder and press record.

It did seem to be a bit quiet for my tastes, so its probably not the best mic you have ever used :P

I have Inspiron 500m- does it have a microphone? Anyway even if I plug an external microphone, the computer refuse to detect my voice. on the control panel, I made sure that it's not muted and that the volume is at its maximum. Someone's knows what is my problem? Thank you!
