Hi there  swapnilkumbhar1989

Is hard to answer your question with specificity without a model number for your Vostro

and is the win xp sp3 is 32 bits or 64 bits?

Please share this

This are some steps you can take to troubleshoot this type of issue in Win Xp

Verify the status of the device in the device manager

Click Start, and then click Control Panel. Click Performance and Maintenance, click Administrative Tools, and then double-click Computer Management.  go to the device manager> network adapters and locate the WIFi card

make sure that is working properly that is enable and if this is the case, make sure that you have internet connectivity and update the driver to the latest.

Also you can search for the drivers for your specific model and Device

Remember this.

Upon downloading drivers, read the manufacturer's instructions before attempting to use the files to update the device.

Often, downloaded driver files are compressed into a self-executing file that needs to be extracted in order to use the driver. In the Hardware Update Wizard, click to select the Have Disk option, then click the Browse button to locate the driver files.

I am pretty sure you know how  to this but in the case you need a refresh.

How to install a new driver from Device Manager.

Double-click the type of device you want to update or change.

Right-click the specific device driver you want to update or change.

Click Update Driver to open the Hardware Update Wizard. Follow the wizard instructions.

if the problem still persist.

you can consider uninstalling the wireless card (wireless NIC) and re-installing the device.

To access Device Manager, use any of the following methods:

Click Start, click Run, and then type devmgmt.msc.

Right-click My Computer, click Manage, and then click Device Manager.

Right-click My Computer, click Properties, click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.

Type the following command at a command prompt:

start devmgmt.msc

Hope this helps.
