After upgrading to Windows 10 my SD card reader does not work.
Anyone else have this experience? Any solutions for this and I would be very grateful.
I tried to update all the drivers for Win 10 but do not know which one is for the SD Card reader.
My SD card reader is not working anymore. I've lost all connections to access my media and can't update photos. I want to go back to Windows 8!! Help answer our questions please. No media player!!! With no warning this would happen, I wish I never upgraded. Help please......diloveshockey
Clean Reinstall Windows 10 by making and using a Recovery Drive:
According to Dell this Latitude model hasn't been tested for full Win 10 capability:
Dell has not confirmed that this product can upgrade to Windows 10. Some drivers, firmware, applications, and connected devices may not work as you would expect.
The last card reader driver listed for the O2Micro Memory Card Reader in this model was for Win 7. I have no idea if this drive will work with Win 10.
If the reader is listed in Device Manager, find its exact model number and do a google search for that model. Doing a search for the generic "O2Micro Memory Card Reader" and "Windows 10 driver", I saw a driver on another PC manufacturer's site but I don't know if it will work with your specific model of this reader.
Whatever you do, manually set a system restore point in Win 10 before you install any new driver. So you can quickly revert if there are problems. And you probably should revert back if you want to try
another driver to remove any driver that doesn't work, so you don't have potentially conflicting files on your hard drive.
Be a good idea to back up personal files on external media before you begin this experiment, just to be safe. emoticon.Wink.title

I'm not a Dell employee
Thanks for the info Ron,
After talking to 3 different people at Dell yesterday the last one found out that the 02 Micro card reader did not yet have a driver that supported Win 10.
He said that he will let me know when it is available and I will also post it here.
Maybe try the one for the E6530 It might work. It has been tested but not all of the available programs posted for the E6530 work either.
Under your machine type - drivers look for a program called Command Update. I used it on my E6530 and it found some missing drivers for me and installed them. It appears the program will check all the drivers and put in the latest for all of them. Maker sure the program is for the OS version you are looking for drivers for! Good luck
I have E6530 and it doesn't work! I don't want to do a re-install etc. Just an update on the driver would suffice
I have checked SD card does work on my E6530 with Windows 10 Pro. Booting UEFI, Legacy ROM's off, and Secure Boot on. I got the drivers installed by using Dell Command Update for Windows 10 and the E6530. Look for it under System Management, on the Drivers and Downloads page.
