I bought an external hard drive 2.5" 20GB with USB 2.0 BOX. First time I insert this drive directly to Laptop and install Windows XP Pro SP2 with every drivers for Latitude D800.

Second time I insert this drive to external USB 2.0 BOX and press F12, select boot from USB Mass storage. Windows XP starts booting but I get a blue screen with an error code STOP: 0x0000007B. (When I insert this hard drive to Laptop, this booted correctly.) When i test boot in Safe Mode, Windows load any drivers a last is AGP440??.SYS, after switch to first grafic interface after horizontal indicator -->> blue screen STOP: 0x0000007B......

Is Windows XP able to boot from USB hard drive ? Or I need any special instructions to prepare this OS for booting ?

I have same problem.
External USB drive. Bios set to boot from USB first.
Try installing XP.
After the first reboot ( 1st boot from USB drive) get blue screen after Windows XP Screen.
