Won't load windows

Hi,

Some more info would help. What model ? What OS ? Do you get any error messages ? Is it booting or a relaod and do you hear " clunking noises " when it stops ?

Are you running windows 95 or 98 ? When you turn it on, do you see the Dell logo ? What happens after that, does the machine turn off ? What is on the display ?

ok when i turn it on dell logo comes up , then my logo for windows me comes up after that gives me just a blue screen my desk top or my any thing won't load.

It sounds like Windows has been corrupted and will need to be reloaded. I dont think Millenium came with that model, did you load it ? You could try to boot into " safe mode " , that may help to determine what is wrong or running Diags in case you may have a mem. fault or something else. Are you able to reload it ?

i didn't load windows in it i took it to best buy they loaded  windows for me. what is best windows to get ? also could u tell me how to get to safe mode?

Hi,

To get into safe mode, press F8 after the Dell screen, then follow the prompts. Safe mode doesnt install all the drivers, and if one is corrupt it may then boot to a desk-top. I think you may be out of your depth, so you may have to take it to someone. Windows 2000 would be my choice of operating system.
