XPS 1340 - Keyboard backlight automatically turns off

Hello everyone,

I got my new Dell XPS 1340 2 weeks ago. I am very satisfied with it. Excepting one detail.

The keyboard backlight is turning off automatically after a while (I guess ~ 30 seconds).

This is a very nice feature during battery mode. But my notebook is on AC power but still does that. Is there a possibility to let the keyboard backlight be always on during AC power?

Greets,

Marc

That sounds very easy :) I hope I can find it there in the settings.
Unfortunately, I cannot check it right now because I am at work :( (Yeah as you see I am very productive).

Do you have an XPS 1340 too?
Anyways, I am going to report success (or not) in the evening (Europe time).

But I thank you very much in advance for this advice :)

Unfortunately, my BIOS don't have any menu "System Configuration". Not even after a BIOS flash :(

What can I do to put the backlight "always on"?

The 1340 has a function key (bottom right key on the keyboard) that allows you to toggle between the normal mode, always on, and always off.

Try right click battery - mobility center - keyboard icon - adjust fade time or never fade

Or Google keyboard illumination is turning off automatically.
