XPS 15 9530 Touchpad

I have used my new XPS 15 since three days and the touchpad already shows heavily signs of use.
There is a dark spot in the middle of the touchpad but also on the spacebar. Does anyone experience the same issue?
Is this normal for a 2000 Euro notebook?

I have the same problem here, it seems like this is the hardware problem, the the touchpad cover's material is very easy to get dirty and hard to clean. i tried to clean it but it is the same.

The date of order was 2013-12-03, date of invoice is 2013-12-19. But I bought it from a private person a week ago. The Dell transfer of ownership is in processing. The notebook was never used before I turned it on and the touchpad was new and unused. The spot appeared within the first three days of my use. I took the photo after the third day.

Can you please also tell me how to proceed - my XPS is 4 months old but looks much older due to the poor quality finish of the touch pad and keyboard.

How was this matter resolved??

Thanks

I have the same problem. My XPS 15 was buyed 2014-18-03. The touchpad is going wrong every 2 or 3 months and Dell change it. But the problem is not solve and touchpad is "wear" and left to work. Dell have to change this material because it is obviously that the problem is not a isolated problem.

Yes, I've experienced the same problem.  I've had my XPS 15 about one month and the touchpad is showing the age of 3 - 4 year old laptop. The touchpad looks very worn. There are visible dark shiny spots wear there has been contact with the touchpad. This is very disappointing considering the price of the XPS and that its supposed to be made with better materials.

I have the same problem with my touchpad. It started with the left click failing at times, and then failing more, and more, until now when I can rarely make it work no matter how much pressure I put on it. How can we address this? My computer is now out of the warranty period.
