XPS 15 9550 Intel Graphics driver crashes

anyone else have this issue? I get the notification frequently in the bottom right corner and then it says its recovering.

The screen freezes for a few seconds but then it seems to work as normal after that.

I've been getting a lot of Intel HD video card crashes and complete BSOD due to bcmpciedhd63.sys which I have thank the wifi drivers for.

Hi,

Can you update/reinstall the Chipset and the Video drivers to see if that will resolve the issues.

Thanks for the reply. I already tried that. I was looking through the Windows 10 Feedback app I see that other are having the same issues with their surface 4s. seems to be an issue with the intel drivers or windows 10. hopefully they have update for us soon.

Me too... frequent crashes caused by the Intel video driver... :(

Please make the drivers as nice as the hardware ;)

I have the same issue. Keeps on crashing. Especially when trying to open youtube.

Are there any updates for this? This is really quite disappointing for such an expensive laptop.

Just got my new XPS 15 in today... after waiting a month. Right out of the box, crash, crash, crash. Rebuit from scratch... Windows 10. All was good until I put the nVidia drivers back on.... then crash, BSOD, reboot, repeat.

Hopefully Dell will fix this.

I reset the PC, within a few minutes it crashed. So I downloaded the Windows 10 Fall Update ISO. Noticed Dell pushed out a new BIOS, installed that and still no issue. Ran for a few days with no crashed up until tonight.

Was on the phone all day with support. Nothing. Suspects hardware issue. I'm not convinced given the number of people with issues, unless it was a huge bad batch of chips. Not sure. So tomorrow will begin the third day of lost productivity. I will post the result of the findings either way.

I agree...either there's issue with the integrated graphics, or driver is buggy/compatibility issue.

This is disappointing with so many users suffering from this...hope they get on their game and fix this, or the come back will be short-lived. Also they need to understand, and fix it quickly before the constant crash actually does other damages.

I have the exact same video driver crashing issues.

In addition, whenever watching a video (ie youtube), if I change the screen brightness by holding down either the up or down brightness key, the audio makes a stuttering sound... I have installed all the latestest drivers and BIOS.

Does anyone have this additional issue with the brightness key?

I have the same issue and tried many things without any success. HD driver crashes from time to time, e.g. frequently when zooming google maps in Internet Explored using touch screen. I have the latest bios, latest NVidia driver 10.18.13.5891 and latest HD 530 driver (the one from Dell version 20.19.15.4300). I haven't tried the one from Intel 15.40.10.4300. When installing Intel's driver it suggested me to stick to the manufacturer's driver so I did. Has anyone tried the one from Intel? Another great thing is that whenever I install any driver, my WiFi card disappears from Windows and appears after several Windows restarts. But that's another story. Fans go rarely off but do not make any troubles like variable speed. When I started the notebook for the first time they were really noisy, now it's ok. When I tilt / flip the notebook they become noisy.

Did they say exactly which driver we have to set back to?

Regarding my question of before - even if you DONT have a brightness button/sound issue please let me know.. I would like to know if this is a common problem. Thanks!

So one more day of troubleshooting... Dell acknowledges that there is a problem... most likely driver related. Fix at this point is to either roll back to base Windows 10 driver (which does appear to be stable) or wait until patched driver comes out. I am re-re-installing to get to a stable version. We'll see where we go from there. I suppose it would be wise to watch the support site for updated drivers in the coming days.
