XPS 15 - Control Strip

Can anyone tell me how to assign a function to the 'Instant Launch control' button on the control strip please?

Also the 'Audio control - panel control' has stopped working - how do I re-activate?

Cheers

Hi ieeee,

I have 'quickset' it is in fact the Windows Mobility Centre as far as I can ascertain.  This is located on the Control Strip of my XPS15 (depicted as a large and small cog-wheel) and works just fine.

The problem I am having is that the 'Instant Launch Control' button (which I assigned to launch IE8) now longer works and neither does the 'Audio control-panel control' button.

I assume you are familiar with the Control Strip on the XPS15?  The buttons I refer to are 'touch sensitive'

Thanks for your help

Barry

I cant figure out how to get the other two buttons to work either.  The gears button opens the windows mobility center. There is no keyboard driver for download for the new xps... the synaptics driver/systray icon has nothing about setting them.  The manual clearly states at least the middle  button is assignable, but does not mention how.

So.. how?

I suggest you contact Dell.  Idid that and they sent me a link to a file to download which solved the problem.

Good luck!

Goto Drivers and Downloads for your laptop...it's under the Applications section...it's a Dell application called QuickSet.

QuickSet will:

1.  Add additional options for the Windows Mobility Center control (the cogs button)

2.  Enable the Instant Launch Control (the tri-spokes button)

3.  Enable the Audio Control-Panel Control (the Waves Maxxaudio3 button)
